Learning and performance portals

Hi. My name is Kai and I'm a Senior Instructional Designer here at Brightwave. I'm just going to show you around the Sky Portal site.
This is a pre-joining induction which is for people who are just about to join Sky. This is about 8 hour's worth of content that they need to know before they start. As you can see there's a big banner heading at the top. If you go down a second, there's a bunch of videos across the middle and this is all the current Sky campaigns.
Then you can see there's a progress bar. What happens here is that a user will go through all of the courses and this arrow will move along more and more until they've done everything that they need to do. Then on the left here are the essentials. There's a video from the CEO and below that there's a health and safety course that we developed for Sky about 3 or four years ago. Below that again, is another Fire Safety course - so these are all courses we've already developed.
On the right are the courses we developed specifically for this project which is everything to do with the current Sky projects, these are all e-learning courses.
This is the course we developed on Sky+. What we tried to do with this one is, although it's fairly conventional, as an e-learning course we tried to make the graphics big and bold to reflect the rest of the site. There's lots of information that you just click through to read. We also put in some flash games, just to make it a bit more interesting. This one here is called 'Push the button' and it's designed to show you around the Sky+ remote control.
This is another course we developed which is called 'Packs' which is all the TV packs you can buy if you were a customer.
The final part of this project I'm going to talk about is at the bottom of the screen. The first part here is called 'Current Prices'. That's a just a HTML webpage that shows all the current prices of all the current products for Sky.
The next bit is the 'A day in the life…' which shows the stories of employees working at Sky. Their typical day, a few videos and photos just to show people what it's actually like to work there.
This sales game is like an end-of-course assessment. So if you just go into it you'll see there are four sets of customers. The idea is you go into one of these profiles and you find out about them by browsing around the profile screen and watching their video diary. You take the call and once they've asked the question you then have to choose a response. Then, whatever response you choose, they will respond to you appropriately. So, if you get the wrong answer they might look a bit upset, a bit annoyed or a bit disgruntled. If you get the right answer they'll be obviously very happy.
