Induction - Vodafone

Hi. I'm Jon and I'm a Developer here at Brightwave. I'm going to be talking you through the Vodafone induction piece we did a few months back.

So it's basically a portal tool that new joiners to Vodafone log onto and get to learn about Vodafone, for example where they're going to start, some of the rules, the fun stuff that goes on etc. They get to talk to other people who are also starting (in their position)- so they get to socially interact with them.

The first thing you can do is go to the home screen. On the home screen there's lots of information like things such as setting your start date. Here shows how long it is until you start your job.

If we go into this section here and run-through a few things. One particularly good thing is you can select whereabouts you're starting. There's games that you can do - here is a game where you can meet some of the potential customers you may be dealing with, answering questions and gaining feedback on subjects such as how best to sell phones.

Next thing I can do is I want to find some people who are starting in my area so I can talk to them. So here I'll click on this person. Here's their profile picture and their description - where they're starting, what region they're in, when they're starting. Down the left here is a list of topics and discussions they've been involved in. So if there was something you wanted to know and couldn't find, something somebody else has already asked, then you could start your own discussion by clicking on 'Start a discussion'. You give it a title, so 'What's it like at the Brighton store?' As you can see our discussion has been put to the top of the list there so we can go in and we could post to it if we wanted to.

So, quite a simple system but it's quite wide-ranging, covering all the sorts of things a new starter may be interested in when joining a company.
