Trinity Mirror launches streamlined group induction with Brightwave
Learning specialist encourages new joiner integration
Trinity Mirror, one of the UK's leading media businesses, has launched a new online induction programme to support new starters in their new career and answer the key questions they may have. Designed and delivered by Brightwave, the solution will raise awareness of the organisation amongst new starters as well as track important compliance issues.
The course, which went live this month, has been implemented to ensure that all new starters are aware of the Group's ever expanding and changing portfolio of over 155 newspapers and more than 200 on-line brands. It is also envisaged that newcomers will now integrate quicker into their role as well as gain an enhanced appreciation of the organisation's culture, policies, benefits and career opportunities.
Specifically designed to appeal to the diverse level of new joiner experience, the programme provides a high level overview of all aspects of working for Trinity Mirror and has helped by reducing the level of resources required to deliver induction.
Steve Tinniswood, Head of Learning and Development, Trinity Mirror said: "Due to our ever changing portfolio, we wanted a solution that pulled on all the strengths from our existing processes in order to implement a successful group programme reflecting the multimedia nature of our business."
"It is important to us that we help all new joiners understand their roles and how they fit into the whole organisation, not just their individual business."
"Brightwave has designed a course that is immediate, interesting and dynamic, engaging our employees through the high levels of interaction. Above all, we are now able to demonstrate consistency of message and communication which is important in our industry."
The course has been rolled out using Brightwave's hosted learning management service, Launch and Track. The platform, customised for Trinity Mirror, manages secure access for new joiners as well as provides an induction path for them to work through as they progress from pre-joiner to day one and beyond.
Lars Hyland, Director of Learning Services at Brightwave said: "e-Learning is a very effective tool for induction at group level. It helps deliver key messages to large numbers of employees in a consistent and persistent manner."
"We are delighted to be working with Trinity Mirror and to have designed an engaging solution that ensures staff get up to speed quickly and efficiently, no matter where they sit within the organisation."
