Brightwave delivers e-learning to Hilton University

Taking a realistic training approach to HR processes

Brightwave, the workplace learning specialist, has been commissioned to design and deliver eight bespoke e-learning modules and one master assessment module to Hilton University, the learning and development portal for Hilton International. The modules are developed for the hotel chain's Human Resource team members and will cover HR best practices, reward management, talent management, managing high performers and other HR processes specific to Hilton Hotels.

"We are committed to offering learning opportunities to all employees and e-learning has proven to be very effective because people can learn in their own time and in short study periods, fitting in with their busy schedules," said Andrea Kluit, Director of International Learning and Development for Hilton. "As the University continues to grow we are increasing the number of bespoke e-learning courses on offer, with HR being an important focus area at the moment."

She explained why they selected Brightwave: "We chose to work with Brightwave because they really looked into the detail of the requirements and presented us with an excellent proposal which made us confident to work with them on this large project."

The modules will feature photo stories and case studies that embed HR theory into familiar Hilton settings. A marketing flyer will accompany each module to advertise its availability to the internal audience. A podcast will also be developed to support the global communications for the overall HR Faculty curriculum of courses.

"We believe that effective learning is about giving people the choice to learn in a variety of ways and using an appropriate mix of media," said Lars Hyland, Director of Learning Services for Brightwave. "This means adopting a holistic model that includes communications, a highly interactive and contextualised learning experience with ongoing performance support."
