Brightwave animation helps raise awareness for the e-Learning Foundation
Highlighting the need for accessible learning technology
Workplace learning specialist, Brightwave is supporting the e-Learning Foundation, its chosen charity for the sixth year running, by producing, free of charge, an animated e-card to help raise awareness of the digital divide experienced amongst children in the UK.
The animated Christmas card links to the e-Learning Foundation's new video demonstrating how home access to computers is vital for their studies and to make the most of opportunities in today's digital age.
The e-card introduces "Miles", the star of the video who looks at the differences experienced between children who have access to computers and the internet at home, compared to the 2 million disadvantaged children who do not.
"Most of us take computers and internet access for granted for many aspects of everyday life. The e-Learning Foundation works to highlight those disadvantaged children and help them benefit from the vast learning resources available, helping them to open up their world and stop them missing out on their future now." said Valerie Thompson, Chief Executive, e-Learning Foundation.
"We are pleased to continue supporting the e-Learning Foundation with this year's e-card. Communication is vital for any learning campaign and this is an excellent way for the e-Learning Foundation to get their message across." concluded Charles Gould, Managing Director at Brightwave.
The e-Learning Foundation aims to reduce the effect of the "Digital Divide" by working with schools, parents and external organisations to ensure that all children have access to learning resources vital for education.
About The e-Learning Foundation
The e-Learning Foundation was launched in 2001, to ensure that every schoolchild in the UK should have home access to learning technologies when and where they want to learn.
The Foundation, a registered charity, aims to bridge the digital divide and ensure that all children, irrespective of their background, can have the same access to technology for learning at home as their better off peers.
The Foundation is funded through the public, private and third sector in the form of Government grants, commercial sponsorship, grants and donations.
