The challenge is achieving this while maintaining a commitment to modern workforce development and excellent front line service delivery. E-learning has a fundamental role to play. We will be demonstrating our Local Government E-Learning Service at COSLA (on stand 2) which helps Councils reduce costs, share best practice and build capability

About COSLA - Change, Challenge and Opportunity

COSLA’s Annual Conference is the keynote local government event in the Scottish calendar and addresses the major issues facing local government in Scotland.

The 2010 COSLA and Improvement Service Annual Conference takes place in what is likely to be the prelude to a UK General Election and amidst the deepest economic recession in decades. The conference will give us the opportunity to debate the future facing Scottish Local Government and the wider public sector.

In light of the pressures building around local government, the conference will explore the scale and nature of the challenge and changes and seek to identify how we in local government can manage those challenges effectively. This theme will be the core theme of the conference.
