New waves at Brightwave

Two new senior appointments at Brightwave

Two new senior appointments have set fast-growing Brightwave on course for further expansion. Virginia Barder joins as Director of Projects and Rachel Sefton-Smith has been appointed as Production & QA Manager.

Virginia is one of the most experienced people in the e-learning industry. With some 18 years working with Epic, the BBC, Video Arts and many others, Virginia has become highly respected as an e-learning and multimedia Producer. After working with Brightwave on a freelance basis for much of the past year, she has now agreed to join the Senior Management Team. Virginia's main focus is introducing and reinforcing project management techniques and processes, for all of Brightwave's projects, including those using BILD's* production methodology.

"Brightwave is doing ground-breaking work," she says. "It is very exciting to be in on the ground floor of an e-learning company which is destined for great things."

Rachel Sefton-Smith also brings a wealth of e-learning experience to Brightwave having set up and headed the testing and localisation department at Epic – EpiCentre - as well as a variety of freelance roles with Channel 4, Video Arts and others. "It's a pleasure to be part of a very friendly and professional team of people with so much practical experience." Rachel will be responsible for implementing improved quality procedures throughout the production process.

Brightwave Managing Director, Charles Gould says the strengthening of the senior management team is great news. "Brightwave has recently introduced new production techniques and quality programmes. Bringing Virginia and Rachel on board considerably strengthens the production and project management resources available to our clients."
