Make like Tom Cruise in Minority Report: New interactive laser projection technology could accelerate mobile learning
Krista Woodley looks at the ground-breaking interactive technology, which turns e-learning into something from the movies.
Want to get your hands on some boundary-breaking new e-learning? Your chance might be coming - literally...

Apart from giving us all the chance to make like Tom Cruise in Minority Report, there are endless opportunities for this technology: in electronics, retail etc. And what could it mean for us in the world of e-learning?
Research indicates that physical activity aids learning, so what better way to physically interact with learning than to literally get your hands on it?
Research indicates that physical activity aids learning, so what better way to physically interact with learning than to literally get your hands on it? We could use interactive projection to create a kind of virtual learning environment that the learner can actually touch. Like a virtual magazine or website, you can use your fingertips to turn pages, open links, expand pictures - along the lines of the iPad interactions, but much smaller to carry around than an iPad because it doesn't need its own screen. Mobile learning is gaining popularity in some areas and industries, but is yet to sweep the board. Maybe this new projection technology could take it up a level, although it is likely to take years of development and investment.
So the new shapeshifting learning world could be almost at our fingertips - available soon(ish) on a table top near you....
